The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Franchise

We saw the movie The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe yesterday in Promenade Greenhills. It's pretty enjoyable for someone who has no clue of what the story is about. The battle scenes, on the other hand, could allow time for you to roll your eyes and say that you've seen this before. The characters were varied enough for a fantasy story. The witch really was a bitch, who at first I thought was Alice Krige (who played Borg Queen in Star Trek: First Contact). You can easily find Liam Neeson's voice in Mufasa... I mean, Aslan. There're also amusing quips from the nice beavers (snicker).

I hear that this movie is a box office hit. Since there are a lot more books in the series, expect sequels and sequels to come.

One of my friends brought home stuff from the US that I bought through Amazon. I got DVDs of Requiem For A Dream and Donnie Darko. They're both in the Top 100 movies in the IMDb. I'm planning to watch them soon, if I have time.

I've just seen it. Quite a disturbing movie, but it tells the story plain and straight. Plus points for style. I like the score very much, it's haunting. I'm glad I bought the DVD.
